We have entered Sterna into the 2023 Rolex Fastnet Race

We will be racing our Swan 53 Sterna in the 2023 Rolex Fastnet Race starting on 22 July 2023 in Cowes in the UK. The race received a record number of entries, and almost 500 boats are currently expected at the start line.

Sterna will round the Fastnet Rock with a crew of 8 to 10 in this bucket list offshore race celebrating its 50th edition. Half of the crew will consist of sailors who sailed aboard Sterna in the recently completed Cape 2 Rio Race from South Africa to Brazil, some of whom will also crew onboard Sterna in the 2023 Ocean Globe Race. The Cape 2 Rio, a more than 3000 nautical mile Atlantic crossing, is also Sterna’s qualifier for the other two races.

The Rolex Fastnet Race forms part of Allspice Yachting’s 2023-2024 sailing campaign that started with the 50th anniversary Cape 2 Rio and will culminate with the Ocean Globe Race – a retro crewed round-the-world yacht race celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first Whitbread Race in 1973. Crewing on board Sterna over the course of the campaign is a mixture of professional sailors and amateur crew.
